No. 2 Ly Thuong Kiet, around 300 m from the Hanoi Opera House: a large LED screen under the vaulted ceiling plays the BLOCKB lettering, a DJ booth clad in white tiles stands in the middle of the floor so the whole room dances right next to the DJ, music posters line the walls under pink-violet light, and the floor is laid in black and white chequered tiles. The gold pendant of Ly Thuong Kiet Street
The Block B logo is a gold pendant: two slanted B letters interlocked, their strokes engraved with a double outline, hanging from a heavy chain and flashing under a blue sky — a piece of street jewellery, not a luxury crest. That spirit runs straight into the room at No. 2 Ly Thuong Kiet: the DJ booth does not stand on a raised stage but is clad in white tiles and set in the middle of the floor, with guests right next to the DJ; overhead, an LED screen under the vaulted ceiling plays the BLOCKB lettering, blurred like an old videotape; the four walls carry music posters, round mirrors and a candle on every small table. The club's weekly schedule posters share the same character — violet striped curtains, streaked print lettering and programme names handwritten in marker. You don't come to Block B to sit and watch a stage, but to stand in the crowd and hear that night's lineup.
